I Love the Beach in the Morning

   My name is Bill Cannon and I have been a Photographer / Digital Artist for 7 years from the Philadelphia area. My work been featured in Magazines (Architectural Record & Organic Gardening), On TV (Man Caves & Museum Men), Book Covers (University of Penn Press) and in a special edition printing of the book by Musician Nick Cave "The Sick Bag Song" for Canongate Press. I have Artwork in the American Grill on Royal Caribbean's ship Quantum of the Seas. I have Art hanging in Penn State University, The Sierra Hotel in King of Prussia, Murals at Venice Lofts in Manayunk and hanging in the main lobby of Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia. I have works hanging in hundreds of homes and have working relationships with many interior designers having sold over 2500 images since that 1st sale in in 2010. 

   Back in December 2009, I casually told my wife that I wanted to buy a Camera and start selling pictures on the internet. My wife rolled her eyes thought to herself where does he come up with this stuff! Now mind you that I never had taken many good photos at this point, just a few nice sunsets from when I lived in Florida. Eventually my wife relented and bought me a camera as and early present for my birthday. I went out and started taking pictures like crazy and then set up my online website at http://BillCannon.net and in March of 2010. When I got my first sale in May I was hooked. My portfolio has grown to over 10000 images with the majority local color Philadelphia area shots and New Jersey Shore Seascapes. I also do Digital Artwork blending my photos with my expertise Photoshop and other software to create multi layered and textured artwork. I also have quite a bit of Patent Art on my site. 

   My wife and I love to travel and we have been to New York, New Orleans, Boston, Key West, Tampa Bay, Vermont, Rhode Island, New jersey, Maryland, West Virginia, Washington DC, The Carolina's, Virginia, Cancun Toronto, Niagara falls and Ireland. 2017 is off to a great start and I am very thankful to all my customers!!

To Catch a Thief - How to Stop the Intenet from Stealing Your Artwork

  They say that the test for a really successful Artist is how many people steal from you. Although I do not even derive half my income from my Art / Photography (Yet) I can find hundreds of images created by me on the internet hawking products, accenting peoples blogs, selling real estate, Wallpaper sites, Youtube Videos, Book Covers  and online News Magazines. I have had lawyers steal my images for their websites, Hip Hop stars use my image for single covers, Rock Stars steal images of local arenas to promote their concerts.

   At first I was fairly oblivious to what was happening. I would find a few here or there and ask for the users to take them down. When I found a Philadelphia law firm stole two of my images I contacted the office. When the Lawyer called me back he was very argumentative and would not let me get a word in. I was willing to negotiate with him but he told me I did not do anything to protect my images. I told him he should know the law better being a lawyer and that you can’t just take images off the internet without ownership or license. He hung up on me.

   I decided to do more searching and found a whole bunch of stolen images (Over 500) and I did some research and found Copyrightenforcers.com. They are a company that goes after copyright infringements for you so you don’t have to stress and can get back to doing what you do best “Making Art”.  I was proactive and went through my portfolio and doing a reverse image search even though CE will do the same to find infringements because nobody knows my Art better the I.  I sent them the URL's and screenshots  of the copyright infringements and they are at work finding site contacts and addresses and sending out demand letters for compensation.

Pennsylvania's Covered Bridges

In Pa. there are 197 covered bridges still in use. They are one of my favorite things to Photograph as they combine nature and history for some spectacular views!!
